

This is the view after you leave the dock and turn (to your left) to row out into the Sausalito Channel. The arrow "RC" points to the OWRC dock. The arrow "FD" points to what old timers call the Fish Dock. Up to about 2002 there were commercial fishermen that used this dock to unload salmon and herring, in fact you could buy whole salmon on the dock the day they were caught. Those were the days.
You will want to remember the image you see in order to find your way back. At the time this photo was taken the large grey ship, "Transquest", at the end of the Fish Dock was a unique marker, but of course ships move. However, the hillside will not change so rapidly. Note the cluster of condominiums on the hill just behind the Fish Dock.
If you turn to your right (and to the right on this photo) you go up the Sausalito Channel toward Strawberry Point. If you turn to your left you move down the Sausalito Channel toward the Spinnacker Resturant and SF Bay.
