Here are a few possible rows.

From OWRC row down the green line on the South side of the channel to the Spinnaker Restaurant. Turn right, past the Ferry Terminal, past the Sea Lion Statue (off Old Town), past the edge of Sausalito to the Sewage Plant. Then row back, but go up the N side of the channel to buoy 8 and then to the OWRC. In summer any wind is most likely to be from the West over the Sausalito hills. Thus, you will be protected as long as you stay close to the shore.

As above, but continue to Yellow Bluff and back.

As above, but at Yellow Bluff go to Belvedere Point(remember the ferry leaves the Sausalito terminal at 7:10 and 8:20; allow at least 10 min to pass before the ferry or else cross after it does). Continue along the Belvedere Pennsula and:

* between April 1 and September 30, and with a tide level greater than +2, continue along the yellow line to the condominiums, turn into Strawberry Channel down to the exit, out into Richardson Bay and return along the green line.

* otherwise, row down the green line to buoy "6" and back to the OWRC.

During winter there may be winds from the North. These winds can be a problem, because waves build up outside the OWRC site and along the Sausalito shore. If the wind is from the NW you can get relief by rowing up the Strawberry peninsula, and going into the inner channel.

The triangular loop between buoy "4" off Strawberry Point, buoy "2" at the entrance to Sausalito channel, and Cone Rock has a length of about 4 nm. It avoids most of the anchored boats and eel grass.
